Children actively engage in their learning, tracking their own progress and celebrating milestones along the way. In the early years, we use MAP® - Measures of Academic Progress to measure growth in Reading, Math, and Language Usage.
These insights help teachers tailor instruction and keep parents informed, creating a clear picture of each child’s development. By making children part of the process, academic achievement becomes a shared journey of learning and growth.
Students at BCA grow essential life skills from an early age. They develop leadership by creating projects, like designing inventions that benefit the school and presenting them to decision-makers.
Students build real‑world skills through STEAM learning and discover growth with project‑based learning. They design and lead projects around questions and issues that matter to them, working in teams to research, create and present their findings.Â
More than 40% of students lead their own project before Grade 3, showing that confidence, teamwork and leadership start early at BCA.Students build confidence, teamwork, and responsibility through student council, starting clubs, and leading fundraisers - preparing them to take initiative and lead with purpose in every aspect of life.
In Kindergarten and Grade 1, students are introduced to Spanish through active participation and hands-on learning. Children practice letter sounds, pronunciation, and early phonics while learning commonly used words and expressions. As they grow more comfortable with the language, students begin forming short sentences and applying simple grammar rules.
Through music, repetition, and interactive lessons, children develop listening and speaking skills in a natural and engaging way. Students are encouraged to use Spanish daily, helping them build confidence and establish a solid foundation for future language learning.
In Grades 2 through 4, students continue to develop their Spanish abilities by expanding on previously learned concepts. Children actively grow their vocabulary, refine grammar usage, and communicate using more complete sentences. Lessons reinforce key skills while introducing new language structures at an age-appropriate pace.
Students deepen their connection to Spanish through cultural exploration, songs, conversations, and meaningful classroom activities. By applying the language to real-world contexts, children learn to recognize and use Spanish beyond the classroom, developing both linguistic confidence and cultural understanding.
As one of the best Elementary schools, students engage with peers worldwide through ISP’s International Learning Programmes (ILOs), including ISP Scientists, ISP Artists, ISP Chess Masters, ISP Changemakers, and ISP Street Child United. They actively lead projects, collaborate with others, and explore new ideas, all while having fun and developing a global mindset.
What guides us every day is one simple question: what is best for students.
