Dr. Christine Avery joins Bellevue Children's School as Head of School with 30 years of experience in education and a strong record of leadership, instructional excellence, and school improvement. Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, principal, and district leader, supporting student achievement, educator development, and thriving school communities.
Most recently, Christine served as an Executive Director of Elementary Schools, supporting leaders across multiple campuses and advancing teaching, learning, and student outcomes. She is known for her collaborative leadership style, commitment to academic excellence, and dedication to nurturing the whole child.
Christine is passionate about creating engaging, student-centered learning environments and building strong partnerships among students, families, and educators. As Head of School, she is excited to join the Bellevue Children's School community and continue its tradition of innovative education.

I am an enrollment leader who cares deeply about helping families find the right fit for their children. With a background in mental health counseling and youth resilience coaching, I bring a whole-child perspective to my work. I have spent my career in independent schools across the Puget Sound region, building strong relationships with families and developing thoughtful, mission-aligned enrollment practices. I love being part of a school community where every student is truly known, supported, and encouraged to thrive.

I am passionate about supporting their growth, helping them navigate challenges, and partnering with families and staff to ensure every child feels valued, confident, and successful.
